"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19

Have you noticed how fear can control you? The fear of the Lord should lead you to obey Him. But, like in the garden, Satan will use fear as a tool to cause you to be afraid of obeying the Lord by convincing you that what God wants you to do is not loving. In the garden, he talked Eve into believing that God must not really love and care for them enough by keeping something that looked so good from them. He convinced them that the obedience God wanted from them was unloving. But as we can see, their obedience to God would have saved the world. It was perfect love. I am learning that I need to question the fear I'm feeling. Is it tormenting me to question God's love or is it leading me to obey Him.

The Fear of the Lord by Tommy Walker
The fear of the Lord
Is the beginning of wisdom
Life hope and joy
The fear of the Lord
Is the beginning of wisdom
So let us worship
Let us bow down
Let us fear our God

To Him belongs eternal praise
Glorious and righteous
Are His works His ways
To Him belongs all reverent praise
Faithful and just
Are His works His ways

So let us worship let us bow down
Let us fear our God

With our whole hearts we will thank You
We will praise You oh God
In the congregation with Your people
We remember Your works
