Through honest conversation, prayer, serving, and Discovery Bible Study, we help one another enjoy and share the abundant life of Jesus.

We believe discipleship happens best in community. Life Groups provide a place where people can be known, encouraged, challenged, and equipped to live out their faith.
Our desire is to develop healthy, welcoming groups that make disciples who make disciples.

Life Groups are open to new people and designed to multiply. As people grow, they are encouraged and equipped to serve, lead, and help begin new groups so that more people can experience a biblical community to enjoy and share the abundant life of Jesus.

What Is Discovery Bible Study?

Discovery Bible Study is a simple, interactive way to read and respond to God's Word together. Rather than listening to one person teach, everyone participates by reading a passage, retelling it, discussing what it says, and considering how to put it into practice.

The process centers on three simple goals:

Know the Word
We read the Bible carefully and discover what the passage teaches us about God and about people.

Obey the Word
We identify a specific way to respond to what God has shown us and encourage one another to follow through.

Share the Word
We consider who else may need to hear the truth we discovered and look for opportunities to share it.

Discovery Bible Study is simple enough for someone opening the Bible for the first time and meaningful enough to help longtime believers continue growing. No special materials or advanced Bible knowledge are required. Bring a Bible, an open mind, and a willingness to participate.

What Happens at a Life Group?

Life Groups typically meet every other week for about two hours. Each gathering has three parts:

Connect
We share what we are thankful for, talk honestly about where we are struggling, pray for one another, and encourage each other in the steps we committed to take.

Discover
We read and retell a passage of Scripture, then discuss questions such as:
What does this passage teach us about God?
What does it teach us about people?
How will I respond in obedience?

Go
We look beyond ourselves by asking:
Who can I share this truth with?
Who can I invite into community?
Who can we help or serve?

These rhythms help us move from simply knowing the Bible to living it out together.

More Than a Meeting
Life Groups are about more than gathering twice a month. They are spiritual families that share life together through meals, celebrations, prayer, service, and everyday friendship.

Groups are led by approved, spiritually mature leaders who receive ongoing training, coaching, and support from Campus Bible Church. Leadership is shared so that members can grow in using their gifts and learn to help others follow Jesus.

Do I need to know a lot about the Bible?
No. Discovery Bible Study is designed so that anyone can participate, including people who are new to Christianity or unfamiliar with the Bible.

Can I join after a group has already started?
Yes. Life Groups are designed to welcome new people throughout the year, and groups are always open.

How often do groups meet?
Most Life Groups meet every other week throughout the year, with occasional seasonal breaks.

Where do groups meet?
Groups gather in homes throughout the community. Some rotate between homes so members can share hospitality and deepen their relationships.

Can I bring my kids?
Life Groups are for adults only.  Parents are responsible for making their own arrangements for childcare.  However, we have a group that meets on Thursday evenings at the Maple campus, and childcare is provided by the church.

What do I need to bring?
Bring a Bible if you have one and come ready to participate. No workbook or advanced preparation is required. Discovery Bible Study is designed so that anyone can participate, including people who are new to Christianity or unfamiliar with the Bible.
