Psalm 84:5-6a

How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion! Passing through the valley of Baca (weeping), they make it a spring…

A Spring in the Valley of Weeping

Panic attacks, weary hearts, frustrated souls…this is surely the landscape of our city, state and nation right now. And though we are as human as the next citizen…we have a HUGE advantage as God’s people when the “highways to Zion” are in our hearts. Not simply an acknowledgment of our future hope, but we are a blessed people when our strength is in the Lord, and our hearts are set on our Heavenly address. And this passage declares that those ones literally have the power to transform their environments from a valley of weeping into a place of springs! The power not just to cope, maintain, or make it through... but to overflow to such a degree that their whole environment thrives as well. So today I pray over you that the Lord’s strength would empower you to turn even a valley of weeping, into a life-giving spring!
