Proverbs 19:17

"One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord,
And He will repay him for his good deed."

For the Christian, there are certain actions that are displayed as a result of God’s Spirit living inside you. One of those actions is kindness. In a time when the world needs it most, setting the course of your life to practice kindness is more important than ever. Living life in faithful obedience to God should encourage us to think, feel, and act in kind ways toward those around us. When we are gracious and kind to those in need around us, it honors the Lord and the Bible says we are lending to the Lord. And our God has the ability to pay great interest on your loan.

In fact, we look to God for the ultimate act of kindness. Prophets foretold of this ultimate act, before Jesus’ birth, thousands of years ago. Check out what is written in Isaiah 53:4-6 about God’s plan for you and highlight the words our and we, then thank God that His ultimate plan included you.
