These words are such a good admonition for us. Like 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Satan prowls around us like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.” There are many things that seem so inconsequential that can slip past us if we aren’t careful. Statements that are made that seem wise and yet, if we line them up with the word of God, they are false. Or traditions that we have followed for years that we line up with the word of God and realize they didn’t have anything to really do with true religion.

So we need to watch, and “no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.” (Ephesians 4:14)

We need to “be strong and courageous and not afraid, remembering that, “the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

We need to be loving and “kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as Christ has forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

So many thoughts in the Word of God confirm each other. That’s why it’s so important to read it from cover to cover…and then read it again.
